What are the benefits of shipping with UPS?

  • Choose ground or next day air shipping.
  • Print at your site immediately – no waiting for labels to ship.
  • UPS will pick up at your location, after you schedule a pickup.
  • Flat rates for shipping to the ADRDL regardless of the origin of the package:
    • UPS Ground Label: $12
    • UPS Next Day Air Shipping: $25

*All charges are for packages less than 17 pounds.

How to Ship Samples Using UPS:

  1.  Visit our new custom . 
    • Before your first shipment, contact the ADRDL at 605-688-5171 to set up your account to use on the website.
      • You will be given an "ID Number" and will use this subsequent shipments.
    • Under “Shipment – UPS Service” choose either Ground or Next Day Air.
    • If you need to add notes such as site, client, etc you can add these under "Description of Merchandise" this can be helpful if you are shipping samples from multiple locations as they will be billed under the clinic associated with the ID Number.
  2. Print the label and affix to your package.
  3. Ship the package by choosing one of the following options:
    • Visit , or call 1-800-PICK-UPS to schedule a pickup (a separate pickup charge may be assessed from UPS)
    • Drop off at a (no pickup charge from UPS), noting any size restrictions and time cut-offs.
      • Ensure you note any size restrictions and cut-off times.
  4. Shipping charges will be added to your monthly ADRDL billing statement

Should I use UPS Ground or UPS Next Day Air?

  • Most, but not all, South Dakota locations will reach the lab by the next day using UPS Ground Service.
