Transferring Credits
Explore This Section
Transfer students who want to get an idea of which courses they鈥檝e taken at another college or university will transfer to SDSU can use either one of the following tools to get started.
Transfer Credit Evaluator
With this website, students can get a preliminary indication of how their credits will transfer to SDSU.
Please keep in mind that this is just a guide and won鈥檛 necessarily provide a complete picture. You鈥檒l likely find several courses with the calculator, but don鈥檛 panic if you can鈥檛 find them all.
Transfer Pre-Evaluation Form
If you are interested in an early evaluation of your transfer credit, we can assist reviewing your courses. By providing unofficial transcripts or a list of your transfer courses, we will return a summary showing how your prior courses are estimated to transfer. Contact our Admissions Transfer Student Coordinator to get started.
Just a reminder: These tools provide an unofficial pre-evaluation of your transfer credits. If you decide to apply to SDSU, we鈥檒l ask for final, official copies of all of your transcripts. At that point, we鈥檒l perform an official evaluation to determine what SDSU can accept from your previous school(s).
If you are currently enrolled at SDSU, please direct your course equivalency questions to SDSU.TransferRegistrar@sdstate.edu.
Program-to-Program Transfer Agreements
To assist students in the transfer process, SDSU has partnered with technical institutes, community colleges and other universities to provide program-to-program transfer agreements. While we make every attempt to keep agreements current, it is possible that program requirements change and thus, these should be used as a guide. Once admitted to SDSU, an official evaluation of transfer credits will take place.
Students who are interested in or have questions regarding a transfer agreement should contact Jessica Sturtz by email or at 1-800-952-3541.
Colleges, institutions and others who have any questions about a program transfer agreement, course-by-course equivalencies, or wish to create a new program transfer agreement with SDSU, please contact the Office of Academic Affairs at 605-688-4173 or by email.
