The South Dakota Art Museum's endeavors would not be possible without the assistance, support and generosity of our members, donors, guild members, docents and visitors.

5 ways to give, join or renew:

We are grateful for each person contributing to the South Dakota Art Museum with gifts of any size. Contributions of $50 or more qualify for Museum Membership (you鈥檒l find Membership levels and benefits below). All gifts support museum programs and exhibits. With each dollar given, you are inspiring creativity, connecting people and enriching lives through art

Join or renew your membership or add a spark gift on the museum store website: 

Give through the SDSU Foundation

Your gift of any amount $50 or more qualifies for Museum Membership. Make it a one-time or recurring gift (select and amount and select "South Dakota Art Museum" in the Designation box). All contributions go directly to South Dakota Art Museum. 

Mail a check

Mail a check to the South Dakota Art Museum (Box 2250, SDSU, Brookings, SD 57007) with your name, address, email and phone number.

Stop by the museum

Visit us at the South Dakota Art Museum (1036 Medary Ave., Brookings), and ask at the front desk.

Membership Information
Whether you give directly to South Dakota Art Museum or through the SDSU Foundation, your contributions of any amount are tax-deductible, and contributions of $50 or higher qualify for a full year鈥檚 Membership. You may also give a Membership to someone else;聽just let us know their contact information when you use one of the five methods above to purchase the Membership! In addition to the Membership benefits, your support of $500 or more annually qualifies for our exclusive Patrons Circle celebration and recognition in the Museum's Member News publication. We also extend Patrons Circle membership when you remember the Museum in your estate plan.
Funding Priorities

We are looking for donors to assist us in funding the following crucial initiatives. Our current top initiatives that are in greatest need of funding include:

  • Native American educational exhibits and outreach initiatives.
  • Paul Goble: Conservation of Goble's works on paper.
  • Harvey Dunn: Conservation of new Harvey Dunn acquisitions.
  • Internships: We provide paid internships in the areas of collections, exhibitions, marketing, graphic design and retail.
  • Exhibitions: Sponsorships by individuals and organizations for upcoming exhibitions.
  • Educational Programs: support for free field trips and other educational outreach programs

Donations of artwork and funding for artwork purchases

100% of the artwork in our collection of nearly 7,000 art objects was donated directly by the artist or collectors or purchased with donated funds. You can designate your gift for artwork acquisition or preservation.
