TRIO Student Support Services
Mission
Through tutoring, mentoring, academic counseling, career exploration, cultural enrichment and community service TRIO SSS will offer learning opportunities that help students overcome social, cultural, economic and academic barriers to higher education.
Who We Serve
- First-generation college students (neither parent completed a four-year degree).
- Students who meet income qualifications (following ).
- Students with a disability (documentation needed).
Eligibility
Students who meet one or more of these criteria and who are U.S. citizens (or meet the residency requirements for federal student financial assistance) are eligible to apply. Students must also demonstrate academic potential and academic need.
To benefit from our services, you must complete a TRIO SSS application. Please contact our office by phone at 605-688-6653 or by email at sdsu.trio@sdstate.edu.
After competition of the application, you will be notified via email to set up an interview.
Want to improve your understanding of course material and improve your grade? Peer tutors will help you better understand course content and develop learning strategies.
Weekly review sessions for students enrolled in historically difficult courses. SI is provided for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades.
