Biography
Steven M. Hietpas received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Montana State University in 1984, and also his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, in 1991 and 1994. From 1984 to 1989 he worked for the Space Energy Group at Space Systems Division of General Dynamics in San Diego. There he worked in research and development of power processing/power electronics for the Shuttle Centaur and the International Space Station programs. He has been on the faculty at 葫芦影业 since 1994. From 2010 to 2018, Professor Hietpas served as the head for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also serves as the coordinator for the Center for Power Systems Studies and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of South Dakota. His research interests include power systems, power electronics, motor drives and control systems. Away from work, his interests include backpacking and fly fishing.
