Joshua Westwick ’01/M.S. ’03, associate director of ºù«Ӱҵ’s School of Communication and Journalism, recently received the Don Yoder Distinguished Faculty Award at the National Communication Association’s annual Basic Course Division business meeting.

Former ºù«Ӱҵ president Peggy Gordon Miller has donated five Harvey Dunn original paintings to the South Dakota Art Museum.

ºù«Ӱҵ, in partnership with Sinte Gleska University, has received $500,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the Igluwiyeya (Prepare oneself): Pathways from Preparation to Graduation at Land-Grant Institutions. Igluwiyeya is Lakota for prepare oneself.

ºù«Ӱҵ professor Sanjeev Anand is not resting on his laurels and has many more research ideas underway. The IDFA is the sponsor of this ADSA award, which Anand said is the highest research award given in the discipline. Anand was also recognized for his excellence in the classroom with the 2018 IDFA Teaching Award.

Valeriah Big Eagle, a member of the ºù«Ӱҵ College of Nursing, has been chosen as one of 24 recipients for a prestigious Bush fellowship by the St. Paul, Minnesota-based foundation.

The Doner Auditorium digital preservation project is moving forward, thanks to a South Dakota Humanities Council grant.

ºù«Ӱҵ announced today the Jackrabbit Journey Scholarship will be awarded starting for the fall 2020 semester, rather than fall 2021 as previously announced. The Jackrabbit Journey Scholarship will provide financial assistance to students who have earned dual credits from SDSU and enroll at SDSU for the fall 2020 semester following high school graduation.

ºù«Ӱҵ received a STARS Silver Rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
