A renowned researcher from Mayo Clinic will share how vaccines can be used to combat cancer at a free lecture Monday, April 8. The 11th annual Francis Miller Public Lecture in Cancer Research will be delivered by Keith Knutson at 7 p.m. in Herold Crest Room (253C) in the University Student Union on the ��«Ӱҵ campus. It is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. The talk is geared toward the general public, the college reports.

The career possibilities for athletic trainers in South Dakota are expanding thanks to the efforts of a ��«Ӱҵ clinical assistant professor. Educating future athletic trainers in the SDSU School of Health and Consumer Sciences and serving as the president of the South Dakota Athletic Trainers’ Association, Mary Beth Zwart has made an impact on the profession and on her students.

Four undergraduate students in ��«Ӱҵ's Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics attended the American Physical Society's annual meeting March 3-8 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Vernon Schaefer and Mike Headley will be honored at the April 23 Engineering Scholarship Banquet at Club 71 in Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.

College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions faculty member Joshua Reineke is the latest recipient of the ��«Ӱҵ Excellence in Graduate Student Mentoring Award. Reineke was named recipient of the award at the 2024 Celebration of Faculty Excellence in February.
