The South Dakota Art Museum is proud to serve as the opening venue for the South Dakota Governor’s 11th Biennial Art Exhibition, opening on February 8! Established in 2003, the Biennial exhibitions are a snapshot of the tremendous quality and unique diversity of artistic creativity in the state. It will feature 58 artists from across the state, including SDSU School of Design faculty Diana Behl, Shannon Frewaldt, Peter Reichardt, Mark Stemwedel, and Kristyn Weaver.

After its display here, the show will travel to the Washington Pavilion, Sioux Falls (June 20—Sep. 14, 2025), the USD Art Galleries, Vermillion (Oct. 29—Nov. 14, 2025), and the Dahl Arts Center, Rapid City (Dec. 13, 2025—March 29, 2026).

Join us for the opening reception on February 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m., where many of the participating artists will be in attendance!
