Painting Certificate (Undergraduate)
Freedom of expression.
Develop a basic understanding of traditional and contemporary approaches to painting. Students will learn a variety of painting techniques and concepts. Projects explore everything from observational and representational painting to abstraction with acrylic, oil and watercolor paint while stressing the development of individual creative expression. The certificate in painting is a stand-alone program and may be taken by any student regardless of major, or may be selected by studio art majors as part of their degree. It is beneficial for education or design majors wanting a deeper understanding of painting or to explore an active and direct process of creative discovery.
