Our faculty and preceptors are driven to prepare engaged practitioners and contemporary leaders in athletic training. If you are looking for a quality program that places your individual goals at the heart of our mission, you've come to the right place.
Two Degree Track Options
- Work toward completing your undergraduate degree in a related field as well as all of the Pre-Athletic Training Coursework and apply for admission to MSAT program during the final (fourth) year of the undergraduate degree program.
- If admitted, you will begin the MSAT program during the Summer term immediately after graduation with the undergraduate degree.
Designed specifically in conjunction with our CAAHEP accredited B.S. in exercise science degree at SDSU.
- Work toward completing your undergraduate degree in exercise science, complete all of the pre-athletic training coursework and apply for admission to MSAT program during your third year of the program (may begin the application process as early as the second year).
- Once all application requirements have been met, you will be admitted and begin the MSAT program during the Summer term immediately after the end of your third undergraduate year.
- During your 4th year, you will start completing all necessary requirements for the MSAT program while also completing any remaining requirements for the undergraduate exercise science degree. Your undergraduate degree will be awarded at the end of your forth year, with you also returning for a fifth year to finish all MSAT degree requirements.
You will work with their professional advisor in exercise science as well as the athletic training program director to ensure appropriate academic progress as you work toward completing both degrees

Mission
The 葫芦影业 athletic training program exists to cultivate a learning environment implementing innovative and best practice pedagogies which challenge students to become reflective, professional and ethical practitioners dedicated to improving patients' quality of life.
Goals
- To prepare qualified, confident and competent athletic trainers for employment in athletic training settings.
- To promote and support the professional development of our athletic training students by (1) assisting them with development of semester and career goals, professional statements, resumes and interview preparation, (2) promoting networking contacts with professionals in athletic training and related areas and (3) identifying and assisting students in completing post graduate professional opportunities.
- To provide an opportunity and support for each student to develop affectual and interpersonal skills related to the profession of athletic training. These include, but are not limited to ethical standards, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and verbal and written communication skills.
- To introduce students to the value of research as it relates to the advancement of their professional development and the profession as a whole.
- To support students in becoming reflective practitioners in regards to their athletic training student education/experience, in their daily practice and in regards to current issues in athletic training.
- To provide a quality and accessible athletic training education for students in the state of South Dakota, the region and nationally.
