School of Education, Counseling and Human Development
The mission of the School of Education, Counseling and Human Development is to provide high quality educational experiences to learners across the education and human science fields and to generate knowledge of human behavior, learning science and interpersonal relationships.
We are here to help! Meet the members of the School of Education, Counseling and Human Development.
The School of Education, Counseling, and Human Development integrates developmental sciences and the science of learning across its programs to enhance teacher education and human development. This approach emphasizes the importance of understanding how learning develops across the lifespan in learners, including variations in cognition, culture, socioeconomic status, and lifestyle.
The center embraces a social constructivist and inquiry-based philosophy, enabling children to learn through exploration and social interaction, while also providing mentorship to SDSU college students and offering observations opportunities for families.
